Batch Farm is situated in an idyllic setting on the Pennard ridge with views of the Glastonbury Tor and the Mendips beyond. Cheese is made at Batch Farm by Jean Turner and Malcolm and Stephen Dyer. Jean’s son John works within the business in the order preparation and despatch department.

The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company is the ONLY Cheddar makers in the village of Cheddar. Since 2003, we have been making true authentic cheddar in the heart of Somerset. Our traditional recipe cheeses are made by hand using local raw milk and matured here in our maturing rooms and Cheddar Gorge caves.

In 2023, our Cave-Mature won Gold at the International Cheese Awards. If you’re looking for a local product with great flavour and heritage, there’s no better story than real cheddar, made in cheddar and aged in 200-million-year-old cheddar caves!

Over the course of 3 generations of the Griffiths family, we have established long-term relationships with many specialist farmers who value our passion for excellence and who deliver fantastic quality consistently. We know exactly where our food comes from (source traceability) and exactly what ingredients are used in the preparation of our award-winning recipes.

Wherever possible, we keep it local, sourcing from Somerset and the West Country.

Richard founded Midsummer Olives in 2020 just at the end of the first lockdown – the perfect time to start a new business!

Years ago, I trained as an actor, so Midsummer Olives combines my love of theatre and food. All of our olives are Greek (Halkadiki and Kalamata) and I create and make all my own dressings, each named after a Shakespearean character (except for Dame Poppy’s Delights which is a tribute to my partner!).

I am delighted that Sadlers Wine Bar & Lounge will be serving my olives.
